Customer Review: Another beautiful Shun for a steal of a price

This small knife is of the same quality as any other Shun knife: it is dangerously sharp, has a nice weight to it, and can serve many purposes. I hadn't seen this knife in stores before, but since the specs matched the Shun classic line, I bought one. The knife is in the exact same style (with the "swirled metal," and Pakkawood handle), except for the end of the handle (the wooden side). Shun classics typically have a flat metal end. This one, however, is PakkaWood to the end, with a metal rod-like shape in the center. I didn't notice this in the picture when I bought it, but it's something to keep in mind if you have a Shun collection. Despite the minor aesthetic difference, the weight and feel of the knife are perfect--balanced and comfortable, like any other Shun knife. Plus, because of it's practical and manageable size, I have found that it's now my go-to knife for many things. I use it to cut vegetables, fruit, cheese . . . the list goes on and on.

Featuring the same VG-10, a hardened Japanese steel of all our Shun Classics, this knife has superior strength, flexibility and corrosion resistance-all characteristics you've come to expect from Shun. And as with our Classic Series, the blades are ground to a 16 degree angle, making them the sharpest out of the box.
